Richard Doug Jones is from Llanidloes and started knocking the plaster off his neighbours walls with his non-stop drumming at the age of 14. He cut his teeth playing the working men`s clubs, three or four nights a week around Stoke and the Midlands, which is great character building for any young musician!
He later joined Talking America (pre T`pau), where he recorded with Ron Rogers and Carol Decker at EMI and Rockfield Studios, amongst others, helping to create some of their early hits. The friendship with Ron continues to this day as he is the Loosehounds producer and mentor, recording their cd`s at his superb studio in Monmouth.
In 1994, Richie was one of the founder members of the then Loosehound Drifters. He was successful in achieving Radio 2 air play for the band, by the legendary Johnnie Walker and also getting what was essentially an acoustic outfit a gig at Glastonbury and many other major festivals, where they played to much critical acclaim.
Richie continues to record many sessions to the present day.
